I’ve just started to play the game and I already know it will be good. The story at the start is great and I’ve loved that Im yet to get bored reading the dialogue. I keep wanted to learn about this world and explore the school. Biggest issue I’ve seen is that in the Jenna battle. The boss will move off screen and become unable to be attacked. I think custom key binds would be awesome but I am getting a little bit more used to using shift, z, x, and c. Overall this is a great game and I really hope there will be an Act 2. :)
I have finished Bixby Beatdown! are "brief" thoughts on it.
It should take you an hour to a hour and a half to beat the game, the pacing is quick, but there are opportunities to take breaks.
First I love that actual images from the high-school are used, along with animated backgrounds, I find the contrast to be very well done.
The fighting is fun and is really well balanced in my opinion. Each boss has different dynamics that you the player have to find and discover, while finding those weakness that you have use to defeat your opponents, and mastering the attacks and powers that you, the player have.
The keys used to play the game are uncomfortable. The main keys you use are the arrow keys, z, x, c, and shift. With the arrow keys being the way to control your character, reaching across the keyboard isn't ideal. You will get used to it over time, but I think it should be changed to WASD rather than they arrow keys, or, I think it would be neat if we could change the key binds (which is on the way). You will fail while fighting some enemies, and that is okay.
The NPC's are nice, you have the option to walk around the school and find different NPC's that you can briefly talk to, each add some story element to the game, or are apart of an inside joke.
The story fantastic, its fun, has multiple deep layers to it, and believe it can be expanded upon for an act II. Like any good game, book, film, etc, this game has narrative bits and pieces that can be read into, making you crave more answers, and waning more! Excited to see where it goes from here.
The music is a bop that goes hard, and I am 100% here for it.
Great game, needs a little bit of quality of life improvements, otherwise, I would recommend this to anyone who is looking for a fairly short, unique, fun game! I CANNOT WAIT FOR ACT II!!
I put more work into this than I do most for most of my school writing lol

It's been a while, but arrow keys + zxc are the general keys to be used in games like this. One hand on the arrow keys, the other on zxc.
